Jerry, my friend, you hit on a lot of stuff here that I relate to. Growing up in the South, your word was your honor and it was good enough for a lot of things. And you could shoot people for being on the porch uninvited.
Seriously – there should always be room for trying to understand each other, but as you say, that type of discussion often devolves into who is right and why don’t you understand me and how could you say that. We all have different perspectives, as you say, and we have to be aware of each other’s viewpoints and sore spots.
